11.55pm: I highly recommend dancing to cheesy music. Specifically Meghan Trainor’s I feel better when I’m dancing. How can you not be in a good mood listening to this song? I did this after my workout and after the 12pm minute’s silence for all of those who have died (fairly certain this is going to be a daily thing, from today, which made me well up but dancing afterwards to celebrate life helped). It has been raining/cold/grey all day today and then as it got closer and closer to 8pm the skies started clearing and there were hints of blue which always makes me feel positive. My neighbours and I promptly met on our balconies and after clapping (for those wondering, we applaud the incredible efforts of the medical workers every evening) chatted and one of them, who is permitted to leave home for work, had a surprise for us. He had bought both me and Lucía (my immediate neighbour) a bottle of wine each! He left them on our doorsteps for us to enjoy. How amazing is that? I’ve just had a Zoom dinner with my old university flatmate and the wine has gone down really well. The kindness of strangers. I don’t have any plans to leave my flat this week but the next time I do I’ll have to get some baking goods so that I can repay the favour.
